A VIDEO

I watched this video where a girl named Joseanna dropped out of school because during the school year she used to leave early to work in a farm for months then come back several days later and has to catch up in school and she is unable to, so she dropped out. MET motivates drop outs to stay in school because instead of leaving school to work in a farm to earn money, MET pays each child minimum wage to go to school and study.

In a child that does labor's view

Dear Journal,

I am a child in the US that is in child labor. I have to work in a farm everyday and pick crops all day with no break for hours. My day is very tiring. I am not able to go to school and get an education. I have to work all day and only get paid 2 dollars an hour, adults get paid more than me.In the United States Child labor is illegal except on farms. My parents made me, there is no option. I have to do labor everyday to make money for my family even though there is a low pay.If I am able to change anything in my life it will be to be able to get an education, so that I won't have to be working outside in the blazing sun picking crops all day for hours with only a pay of 2 dollars an hour.

I am a Gold digger. I am not the Gold digger you think I am a child, in Africa that does mining to raise money for my family. I dig for gold as my job. I have to do it. I am a slave. I wake up early in the morning and walk everyday to the gold mining pit with not shoes and ripped up clothes. It is tiring and I have to work hard. I live a lonely life, no time for friends, and sometimes no time for my own family. In the mines I dig for gold and I am unable to keep them I have to give them in.In Africa every night I go home tired with my hands aching glad to be home in bed, dreaming of having a regular childhood.
